We are so excited to introduce you to Daniel Calbacho. He is a 'petrol head' and a serial entrepreneur. Daniel will be writing the 'Motor Report' blog exclusively on neofundi.

Tell us about your new motor blog on neofundi, what can we expect?

I hope to entertain, inform and appeal to the neofundi readers in a personal and unique manor. My love for cars is not an exclusive one, South African’s adore cars, spending way too much on them because of what they mean to them as individuals, and I hope to be a reading treat for those car lovers.

Tell us about your passion for cars?

I was born with a passion for cars, from a young age I would listen to the sounds they made, instantly remembering facts and figures about these amazing machines. A car would pass by and I could tell by the sound of the engine purring or the door thudding closed which brand and sometimes the exact model.

The Ultimate car that you would love to test drive:

There are so many but if I could pick one it would be a McLaren.

Tell us about your company RED Marketing?

I established RED Marketing nine years ago, a fashion and lifestyle press office, with 30 brands in the companies stable. We are predominenlty a P.R firm but also produce campaigns for our clients and launched a social media division this year which is great fun.

You also own Spark Interiors:

Yes, with my business partner Paul Mrkusic. Together we design, build and finish off retail and residential spaces. Both businesses allow me to combine my love for business and creativity, " I am living my passion every day, I love working with teams and clients to achieve their goals, whether that be increasing their business profits or creating beautiful spaces".

Favourite car and what colour would it come in:

I would like to own a Carerra S4 cabriolet in dark blue metallic and sand beige leather interior.

Performance over Style?

Never, I am a visual creature and love beautiful things. I currently own a fast car, our roads are congested and will continue to become even more so in the future, so true performance is hard to exploit on Jozi streets.

Perfect ladies car:

When she is single or has no kids, I like an SLK, it’s sexy and stylish. If she is a mom, I like a Range Rover Evoque, this is providing money is no object, but there a number of more economical cars that are great for females too. Look out for my blog and I will identify more.

Car for trendy, young, wealthy entrepreneur:

The new Toyota 86 is amazing, and if you’re a bit more flashy I would get the new Boxter S.

Family car:

The road is full of Mercedes, Audi’s and BMW’s because they are great but if you like to go against the grain consider an Infiniti.

Sports car or 4x4:

I am a sports car kinda guy.

Quote that resonates with you:

Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened – Dr Seuss

Hi Maria

I love old classics 507 BMW, 300 SL gull wing, and Aston Martin DB 5....wow. Muscle cars - Ford Mustang, Chev Camaro, and the Corvette are design icons, legends! I am sure the 18th August will host more contemporary muscle cars but i would love join.
