Crystalactite by Maison Margiela for Swarovski

Swarovski and Maison Martin Margiela have redefined the way we look at crystals by creating avant-garde pieces made from a combination of molded white resin and sci-fi crystal formations, inspired by the shape and structure of stalactites.

By merging uncut crystal with liquid polymer, the process of gluing is unnecessary, allowing sharp angles and protrusions to cut into stalactite shapes of art. An integrated clip mechanism allows the versatile accessories to be worn on the hair, clothing, or footwear.

The pieces have been described as “wearable works of art that perfectly blend Margiela’s raw industrial aesthetic with the glittering decadence of Swarovski.”  It excites me so much seeing two artists or brands collaborating on a project and then having this outcome.  It’s absolutely gorgeous!
