Shoemakers since 1825, Clarks’ spring summer 2015 collection provides a fresh take on the brand’s archive styles - recapturing the essence of the brand, whilst still delivering effortless British style with a contemporary twist. Underpinned by the lifestyle needs of the modern sartorial man, this season’s Men’s Collection spans a range of casual to formal shoes and sandals. Colours are kept muted yet refreshing, whilst textures become the forefront of the collection - combining suede, soft leather, moccasin and cork with a notable attention to the smallest of details.

The collection takes inspiration from key seasonal trends, which Clarks has combined with its own unique and remarkable archive of over 22,000 styles. It’s these influences in particular that have helped create a men’s collection like no other, with styles that seamlessly combine the classic and the contemporary, with the true shoemaker’s craft. Dakin Walk showcases distinctive, handcrafted moccasin stitching with soft suede and reflects the Clarks DNA. Inspired by the 1980’s archive style Castaway, we have kept the cleated sole and added XL extra light technology making it super lightweight. Also inspired from the archive is the Grafted Sail, which uses the 1970’s Polyveldt construction but modernised with a slim dress last.

‘Barefoot’ becomes a byword for style this season, with key styles developed to feel lightweight, cool and free for a laid back effortless summer look. Clarks continue to provide a modern twist on a traditional shoe with Darning Walk, a season favourite available in a variety of colours including bold lime and petrol blue suede that encompasses an almond toe shape and stitch down construction. The translucent sole nods to the ‘ice sole’ trend enabling view of the cork under sole detail. Dress casual styles continue to be influenced by Clarks’ catalogue of iconic silhouettes, given an up-to-the-minute twist, and enhanced by materials including vegetable tan leather to ensure feet look good and feel cool. Highlights include Frewick Lace’s vibrant suede options and innovative perforated leathers on a classic slim sole. As well as the Gambeson Limit which has been built for a slim profile for spring summer 2015, combining espadrille detailing with intricate brogue patterns.

High summer styles this season are ultra-lightweight, mixing versatile materials of canvas, soft leather and suede. Spanning driving mocs, sandals and retro low profiles, statement casual styles are inspired by ‘of the moment’ sports silhouettes. Highlights include Mego Walk - effortlessly casual incorporating materials of soft perforated leather and canvas in a choice of bold colours.  The ultra-stylish Netrix Buck provides a classic take on a traditional sandal taken directly from the Clarks 1980’s archive style ‘Metrix’. Details include a razor sole, archive buckle detail and raw edged leather to give a modern twist to the heritage influences. Whilst the Marcos Edge style returns for a second season, this time with a statement camouflage print or navy nubuck - providing a perfect addition to every man’s summer wardrobe and completing the spring summer 2015 collection.
