Do you believe that some of the best photos can be taken with our phones? If not, check this out. Balazs Gardi captured incredible images of the war in Afghanistan right on his iPhone. A well-known photographic journalist, Gardi took the impressive shots for Foreign Policy Magazine during his five month stay in Helmand. Beginning September 2010, he documented the war in the most intimate way possible. These photos provide a more detailed look into the war being fought in Afghanistan.

This is brilliant photography-capturing the moment at its best. You almost feel like you are there, part of the unfolding story. I can't stop thinking of our very own journalist, Anton Hammerl, that was killed in Libya

Beth, I can't believe you brought Anton up. He is exactly who I was thinking of when compiling this post. Anton was a friend of mine, we were in the same class at school for many years.

These are fascinating, takes you into the world that they are in, makes you feel what they are3 feeling, puts you in their shoes! I guess that is what photography is...creating emotion! Stunning but sad essence, beautiful imagery but harsh, These photos really speak truth! Love them
