Candy is a 30-something Capetonian girl who, although tempted, will not succumb to cynicism in love and dating. Candy has intrigued us with her blog, so we had to get to know her a little better.

What inspired you to become a blogger?
A broken heart. And by broken, I mean shattered into a million pieces.

How would you describe your style in jewellery?
It used to be very big, raw gemstones (coral/quartz/lapis etc) but is evolving all the time. It's more mean rock 'n roll now.
I love Webster, Vhernier, Pomellato... but my all time fave is Solange Azagury-Partridge.

Favourite shoe brand?
Louboutin of course. ALDO locally has amazing offerings.... and my cell number on speed dial unfortunately :)

Tell us about your fascination with Dita von Teese?
What's to tell? She's clearly perfect.

Passions in life?
Pretty much everything. A life without passion isn't a life worth living.

Tell us about your travels to Australia and your experience as a chef?
I studied for a few years and was dying to be a chef. The hours and lifestyle proved too tiresome for me. I'm a girl who loves a manicure and long hair, after all. I lived in Melbourne and Perth for my 20's. Words cannot describe how much I love Australia- it's my second home.

If you could cook for 4 people (celebrities) who would they be and what would you make for them?
ONLY 4????!!! Johnny Depp, Monica Bellucci, Chuck Palahniuk and Keith Richards. Mainly for the afterparty :) I would make them steak béarnaise and shoestring kipfler potato fries with truffle oil.

Best place in Cape Town for:
Bespoke pieces? - I have found a tailor close to where I live. She's my best kept secret.
Cupcakes? - Unfortunately none I've tried have made me happy. If I have a craving that just won't quit, I make Red Velvet cupcakes at home.
Dinner? - I love Sinns and Opal Lounge.
Breakfast?-Tasha's.
Art?-I'm saving for an Anton Momberg and Brett Williams. Otherwise, photography at MUSEUM. The owners are easy on the eye too :)

If someone only had a weekend to spend in Cape Town, what would you suggest they do and see?
Franschhoek, mountain, restaurants, The Biscuit Mill, Milnerton Market, Hout Bay fish and chips perched on a rock with a beer, shopping, live gigs, a bit of shimmy shaking, and a long drive to Betty's Bay.

What is your most memorable experience in France?
Scratching my then boyfriends' name in the paint of the Eiffel Tower.

Wine or Whiskey?
Whiskey.

Favourite book?
I am a literary slut. I can't choose between Vonnegut, Bukowski, Watson, Welsch or Palahniuk.

A saying that you can relate to or try to live by?
Action Expresses Priority ~ Albert Einstein

Favourite Quote?

Je ne voyage jamais sans mon journal. L'un toujours doit avoir quelque chose sensationnel pour lire le train- Oscar Wide.

Translated - I never travel without my memoirs. You always have something sensational to read on the train.

List your 5 best items in your wardrobe?
My mum's wedding dress and wool trench coat, my cheap yellow raincoat from France, my Nicola Finnetti party dress and my leopard print coat I bought in Melbourne with my first measly pay cheque.

Lisptick colour?
"Dragon Red" by NARS- it's totally kiss proof- and I love bearded men so that's saying a lot!!! Otherwise, MAC's "Faux".
