MATTE PINK LIPS

Summer is almost here, and the best thing to pair with slightly bronzed skin is a pink lip. We're talking bright, day-glo, basically neon. Emma Stone and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld have also followed suit, wearing the somewhat shocking shade with an otherwise bare face. (With color this extreme, it's best to keep the rest of your makeup minimal.)

As far as getting a matte finish, colour that actually stays AND lips that won't dry out, you have a few options. The new NYX matte lip creams are amazing: vivid pigment but with a cushy balm-like texture. Also in the way of super-hydrating: Josie Maran's double-ended Magic Marker Lip Stain with Argan creates colour and moisture that will last throughout the day. Bold Brows

There's a total glamour effect with strong brows: When done right (our inspiration is more Arizona Muse, less Joan Crawford), it can be instantly face-framing. Even if you weren't born with naturally awesome brows like Muse, you can channel the model's look with one of these brow-filling options.

First, start by taming any unruliness (we love Chanel's double-ended pencil). If your brows are prone to mid-day wonkiness, use a subtly-tinted brush-on gel like Benefit's Speed Brow to keep them in place. Or if sparseness is an issue, Bobbi Brown's pencil is fantastic-it has the effect of a powder, but with the precision of a pencil.
