Seeing that art is making headline news lately, you might not want to miss the awe-inspiring exhibition at the newly-opened Wits Art Museum (WAM) in Braamfontein...it features African art at its best, including the above William Kentridge silkscreen on paper, entitled "Art in a State of Hope", as well as the late Robert Hodgins' oil painting, " A Beast Slouches"; both, by the way, were politically motivated...African wooden sculptures and beautiful beadwork reveal the wealth of diversity of our culture. WAM is situated on the corner of Bertha Street (extension of Jan Smuts Avenue) and Jorissen Street in Braamfontein, looking out over the Mandela Bridge and the Newtown Cultural Precinct. The exhibition is named "WAM! Seeing Stars" and pays tribute to artists past and present. Don't miss it!The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Check it out on
