When people are looking for a venue for a special occasion, the tendency is to look far and wide- possibly somewhere pretty in the countryside, far away from the bustle of the city. The downside is without question the amount of travel your poor guests have to make, so without further ado, let me introduce to you The Park House of Events on 7- a delightful space right in the middle of the Parks area in Jozi.
When I first entered the main room, this space literally took my breath away because of the floor to ceiling windows which dominate the room, inviting an enormous embrace of natural light within, as well as pleasing the eye with the typical abundance of trees outside, which are a part of the Johannesburg signature panorama.
Remember the Imax Theatre? –this is it, inheriting its acoustics as well as the chic location- it’s literally perched on top of the Hyde Park Shopping Centre, so it comes with many advantages- great parking, neighbouring the Hyde Park Southern Sun Hotel, a hop away from Sandton, Rosebank and the City and a jump (40 minutes) away from O.R Tambo International. Location sorted.
Now what about the type of event? That’s the beauty of it. This is a blank canvas waiting to be transformed. The possibilities are endless- but these are the facts:
The Park on 7 has two split levels in addition to a private rooftop balcony overlooking the urban scene- there is also a welcome area at the entrance of Level 7- exclusive to clients for arrival registration, luncheons or cocktails. The versatility of the space means that it can be used for both corporate and really intimate, private functions- the potential is limitless.
At the helm is the artist that is transforming and creating the visions of people from diverse walks of life- MD of the Park on 7, Leah McCrae’s passion is to make her clients’ dreams come true. With 26 years in the production business, working her way up from being a runner to a technical producer, she leads her talented team with dynamic energy and experience, converting the space to lodge weddings, Bar/Batmitzvahs, conferences, galas, award ceremonies, launches, lunches, theatre, fashion shows and art exhibitions. The list goes on. Leah has worked with the best in the industry, both nationally and internationally.
“The venue is my heartbeat- I love working closely with clients to bring their event to life. The best part for me is when we do the sound check- that’s when everything becomes real…”
From celebrities and prominent brands, to budget-conscious couples dreaming of an urban wedding, Leah collaborates, engineers and plans to realize a successful outcome.
Nothing is impossible.
You really need to go and see this beautiful space if you are planning a special occasion.
And most importantly, the bathrooms are gorgeous- just saying.
