Cancer- A Love Story- Book Review

I love reading- I literally devour books and almost have a panic attack when I’m nearing the end of the current one I’m reading and haven’t got a back-up. This particular book, written by local author Lauren Segal, was not one I was keen on. I hesitated because of the subject matter- I was afraid of being depressed and sad at this time of year when the festive season is…

I have to state upfront that I am a lover of facial oils- living on the Highveld, with its dry winters and intense heat in summer, I can really attest to having dry and dehydrated skin, which if not pampered, can be very ageing – and let’s face it, we want to be able to look and feel our best at all times- why not?

Staying Sun Safe- Optiphi, Filorga, SVR

With the weather changing so quickly- at least here in Jozi- it’s important to get cracking with a few suncare products so that you avoid harmful UV rays as well as the pigmentation that comes with sun damage. Sun protection products have come a long way; most people (kids top the list!) hate the feeling of sticky sunblocks and the white cast that usually accompanies application.

The products I’ve been testing are in a completely different category and I’ve loved using them.…

Skincare: The Milky Way with Dermaceutic

I’ve been hearing a few girlfriends moan about dry, dull winter skin, notwithstanding their scrupulous skincare routines, using really good products. This is usually because the surface of the skin has thickened and even though you might be using products with active ingredients, they cannot penetrate the skin efficiently. Time to shake things up!
